We grow four varieties of basil for our pesto. We keep the young basil
plants under light-weight shade cloth and plant them with giant marigold
plants for pest protection and additional shade during the hottest months
of the summer. We treat them with TLC and it pays off in our pesto.
THIS WEEK our pesto will be available at the Show Low Farmer’s market
Saturday 9-1 at Kevin’s Koffee Booth located near the card players area
closest to the Deuce of Clubs. There are 24 8-oz jars of PINE NUT PESTO
$11/jar. Stores very well in your refrig in the glass jar containers, or transfer
pesto into a freezer container and keep it forever.
